Several folks suggested one of the things missing in the book was a glossary of terms, so I’ve collected as many terms here as i can (probably better anyway, as I can keep updating).

This area will no doubt always be under some level of construction. First I’ll look just to get a bunch loaded in, then I’ll actually try linking them up to additional sources ’round the web – m’kay?

These terms aren’t just compression related, because too much of this relies on understanding the other pieces of the workflow that fall outside just this narrow slice.  So editing, production, broadcasting and other terms will all be included.

By the way, I’m more than happy for this to be a group effort – if anybody feels like volunteering, contact me and i’ll make you an account so you can help edit the glossary.
