Visual Hub Shutters, a little shareware piece of me dies…

Posted by andybeach under: Announcements; Ramblings .

One of my favorite cheap applications has closed its doors - Techspansion, maker of Visual Hub & iSquint has shut down.  The message was short and posted right on their front page:

…After much soul-searching (it’s not you, it’s me), for personal reasons, Techspansion is closing its virtual doors.
The Support Forum and Support E-mail will be available for a while longer to take care of any remaining issues for you.

I’ve touted Visual Hub many times as a great, easy little tool for getting the job done.  It’s not always the best or fastest, but for the money it was a great option to have available.  This is all old news by now of course, i know I’ve had easily 15 people ping me mails to see if i knew.  I of course heard the news along with everybody else late last week, but i was a little stunned and bummed out (well, that and I’m house hunting so I’m somewhat occupied).  I sent Tyler, the founder (and as far as I know, only person involved) with Techspansion & he responded that he hadn’t decided what yet to do but that were we possibilities of it coming back in someway in the future.

Time will tell of course, but in the meantime, i’m sorely dissappointed & hoping we haven’t seen the last of Visual Hub…
