CBS to gobble up CNET
Alerted by (of all things) twitter, I just learned CNET, home of some of my favorite podcasts is going to be bought by CBS.
CNET has done a lot to programtically bring audio and video news and entertainment to the web. Their various properties would surely look attractive to a traditional broadcaster looking to solidify themselves in the game.
Am reserving judment til I here some more news on this, but i really hope they don’t ruin CNET in some way (like Katie Couric)!!
update: more information via Dave Winer.
update #2: more analysis from Marshall Kirkpatrick.

Well, for better of worse, you have found yourself in my little corner of the web.
RWVC.com is a sister-site for my book, Real World Video Compression, which was published by Peachpit. The goal of this site, much like the book, is to demystify video compression and help those looking to tackle problems they are having converting their video from one format to another.
